The Chino' Arte' by Wayne fashion gala took place in Charlotte, NC, on Saturday, April 30, 2022. The models included adults and children from different parts of the country and various locations worldwide. A mother of one of the youth models spoke about how far she, her husband, and two small children drove and the many sacrifices they made to be a part of this event. Originally from Africa, they now reside in Boston, MA, and drove 18 hours to be in the show. "We'll be driving back to Boston tomorrow," she stated. An adult male model from the Caribbean said he was excited about some of the future opportunities this show might open up for him. He noted that some of his aspirations are to model in New York Fashion Week. Another model from Mississippi was eager to work the show for Wayne's up-and-coming brand.
As the models arrived, you could see that the setup was pure class and sophistication. It was such a glorious occasion full of people with ambition and aspirations as far as the eye can see. Celebrities graced the gala's red carpet with their presence. Slim Hood was there. He's a producer and engineer who's not only had hit records on the Billboard charts but also worked with some big-name artists in Hip Hop, such as rapper DaBaby (a Charlotte, NC native), Fetty Wap, and MoneyBaggYo. Slim Hood also has a studio in Charlotte.
Rapper, singer, and songwriter "Bandit The Rapper" (from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) also graced the show with his presence. He has worked with some of R&B's hottest stars like Trey Songz, Amerie, and Jon B. You can also catch him on the well-known show Love and Hip Hop New York or gracing the runway for major events like New York Fashion Week when he's not working in the studio as an entertainer.
The pre-show was an event by itself. Anyone would have loved to experience the red-carpet hype. You just had to be there to indulge in all of the magic on that humid spring night in Charlotte, NC.
